The Panelists
On Thursday – July 20, 2023 – Ruby Villaluz Boyden (music educator, occasional superhero), Tony B. Kim (Hero Within, Crazy 4 Comic Con), Allison Lehr (singer, actress, cosplayer), Dr. Marty Lloyd (The Joker Psychology, Westworld Psychology), and Sebastian A. Jones (president of Stranger Comics) joined Rev. Brian Weis (interfaith minister, pop-culture blogger) for a panel discussion, titled Spirituality in Pop-Culture, at San Diego Comic-Con. Ruby Villaluz Boyden
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Ruby now calls Norton Shores, Michigan home. She is a product of the Clark County School District (the fifth-largest school district in the nation), and holds two music education degrees from the University of Nevada- Las Vegas. She is married to Jay, a fellow nerd, and has two awesome teenagers (Noah and Goldwyn) and a very excitable dog (Gryffindor). Teaching details:

Teaches elementary general music for Zeeland Public Schools (Zeeland, MI).

Has a classroom devoted to pop-culture references (students especially like the "Pokemon zone" and the "Marvel-ous wall").

Has played piano for forty years, rocks a mean ukulele, and willingly teaches recorder to fourth graders every year.

Allison Lehr
Allison is a musical theatre actress, cosplayer, and professional Dorothy Gale from Cleveland, Ohio. Earlier in 2023, she moved to Central New York to become the first ever manager at the All Things Oz Museum located in Chittenango, the town where L. Frank Baum was born.

Dr. Marty Lloyd
Marty Lloyd, Ph.D., is a forensic psychologist currently practicing in Minnesota. His former positions include: U.S. Bureau of Prisons, California State Hospital System. He has contributed to several publications, including: The Walking Dead Psychology; Game of Thrones Psychology; Captain America vs. Iron Man: Freedom, Security, Psychology; Doctor Who Psychology; Wonder Woman Psychology; The Joker Psychology; and the forthcoming The Handmaid's Tale Psychology.
